I feel this is the best way for you to try the program out with as little risk as possible for a full 3-week training and nutrition cycle and see if it is for you. Just thought you should know…)
21 Day Fast Mass Building is the latest muscle building program from Vince Delmonte and Lee Hayward. Together they claim to have produced a program that will help you to gain anywhere from 5 to 20 pounds of lean muscle in only 21 days…
I took a look at the program to see what it’s all about and see whether it’s something you might be interested in. Read the review below to see what you think…
What’s The Program About?
They key behind the 21 Day Fast Mass Building program is to minimize the fat gain that can often occur in traditional ways to bulk up. This is achieved through calorie cycling and nutrient timing techniques, as well as a 2 week bulking phase and 1 week cutting phase.
Usually, folks who want to pack on muscle will focus on the bulking stage first and significantly increase their calorie intake. Then when they’ve gained weight and muscle, they move on to the “cutting” stage, where they reduce their calorie intake and up their cardio sessions to burn off the body fat and get shredded.
While this traditional strategy works, it does have its drawbacks…the bulking stage will often last several months, likewise the cutting stage will take a month or two. The longer you spend on each stage the more you increase your chances of overdoing each – during the bulking stage you can put on too much body fat (and just simply get sick of eating!), and a cutting phase that lasts too long can start eating away at your hard-earned muscle gains.
Therefore the point of the 21 Day Fast Mass Building program is to shorten your bulking and cutting phases to help you maximise your muscle building while staying lean. The strategies and training techniques are designed to help you gain muscle mass without increasing body fat (you should in fact lose it)
The Bodybuilders’ Secret…
Bodybuilders have long known the phenomenon known as the “Post-Contest rebound phase” where they see HUGE muscle gains with little to no fat gain in the few weeks after a big contest (see Lee’s own “rebound” phase here).
After the long pre-contest cutting phase, their bodies bounce back and gain massive muscle, even if they’re stuffing their faces with junk food and all-you-can-eat buffets.
This secret forms the basis of the 21 Day Fast Mass Building program as each cycle is like a mini-rebound to help you gain muscle in short bursts – also known as the “anabolic amplifier effect“.
The use of calorie cycling and nutrient timing are also fundamental to the whole program, where the emphasis is not just on “getting more calories” but rather getting the right KIND of calories and finding the right time to consume them where they’re going to have maximum benefit.
After all, taking on a lot of calories when your muscles don’t need them will result in excess fat and no muscle gain…so meal timing is really important here
Who Is The Program For?
Anyone who is looking to build lean muscle mass will benefit from using this program, but particularly folks who are worried about gaining any extra body fat that comes from traditional bulking strategies.
Most skinny guys and girls are not too concerned about gaining a few extra pounds of body fat, but if it’s possible to change up your routine to avoid the extra fat gain then it makes sense to do it, right?
Are The Claims Realistic?
Lee and Vince tested their program on 100 volunteers and many saw significant improvements in muscle gain and fat loss over the 21 day period (you can see the testimonials on the sales page here – scroll down, they’re in blue)
Since each person is different it is impossible to say how much muscle you will gain or fat you will lose if you follow the program. However, I would say that 20 pounds in 21 days sounds like a heck of a lot…that would probably only happen to folks who are absolute beginners to bodybuilding, since quick gains are quite common among complete beginners.
In my opinion a more reasonable goal would be 5-10 pounds…but like I say, everything depends on the person, their own unique situation and how much effort they put in to following the program.
Is It The Same As Vince’s No Nonsense Muscle Building Program?
The 21 Day Fast Mass Building program is a stand alone program that comes with its own set of workouts and training DVDs. You can use it on its own or in combination with No Nonsense Muscle Building if you already own it, since the two programs are different.
No Nonsense Muscle is a more complete training program in my opinion, but at the same time it doesn’t go into how you can use calorie cycling and nutrient timing like the 21 Day Fast Mass program.
A great combination would be to combine the training from No Nonsense Muscle Building along with the meal plans and calorie cycling from 21 Day Fast Mass Building.
Negative Aspects of The Program
If I had to be negative about the program I would say that I don’t actually like the name of the product. I think it just that when programs claim to help you gain a lot of muscle in a short period of time my cynical side comes out.
Also, there is a lot of content to download when you purchase the product which is great, but I would prefer if they used a system similar to the membership-style interface that Vince uses on his No Nonsense Muscle Building product where you have a log-in and can select what you need from a sidebar. I just find that it makes it easier to keep organised and find what you need.
21 Day Fast Mass Building is a solid program that will give you the knowledge and understanding to help you achieve your muscle building goals.
It is ideal for folks who are looking to gain muscle mass without gaining excess body fat. The great thing about it is that you won’t get bored like you will on many traditional bulking program where you have to follow the same plans for months at a time. Here you’ll be changing things up every 3 weeks, which will give you great variety and help keep your body guessing.
You can combine this program with Vince’s No Nonsense Muscle Building or any other workout program that you are currently using…or just use it on it’s own. The key is finding what works for you and keep doing it.
