What is it about summer that
makes it seem to approach so fast and leave us unprepared and thinking
of how
to get a beach
body fast?
I mean, winter seems to last forever, and we spend most of it wishing
for warmer weather, but at least we don't have to worry about taking
our tops off and wearing swimming shorts, where everybody is going to
see all our lumpy bits whether we like it or not. Let's face
it...winter is a pain, but at least we can avoid the embarrassment of
being half-naked on the beach.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a beach body so that we can turn heads for
all the RIGHT reasons? Ever since Daniel Craig did that scene in Bond
where he walks out of the sea looking ripped, us guys have had an even
tougher time on the beach.
If you're looking for how to get a beach body, then follow these three
tips to increase your muscle mass, lose body fat and look like you
belong on Baywatch!...without the gleaming white teeth and plastic
boobs :)
Weight
Training For Muscle Growth
Whether you're skinny or not so skinny, getting some good weight
training routines into your workouts is essential in your quest of how
to get a beach body ready for the summer.
It'll help you to pack on some extra pounds of muscle, increase your
strength and improve your posture so you'll totally look the part.
Focus on big basic exercises such as Squats, Chest Press, Barbell Curls
etc. and keep your workouts no longer than 45 minutes to an hour.
This workout is ideal for guys looking at how to get a beach body:
Squats
1-3 sets of 8-12 reps
Bench Press
1-3 sets of 8-12 reps
Bent Over Rows
1-3 sets of 8-12 reps
Bicep Curls
1-3 sets of 8-12 reps
Lying Tricep
Extensions 1-3 sets of 8-12 reps
Calf Raise
1-3 sets of 8-12 reps
Make sure you increase your protein intake (you should be getting
around 1 gram of protein per 1 pound of bodyweight), to increase your
muscle growth. Try to get as much of this protein from natural sources
as possible within your diet, but using a protein shake can be really
handy and convenient - you can get around 50g of protein from one
serving.
Lose
Body Fat To Get A Ripped Beach Body
So, now you've been working out and building some muscle mass, you need
to show it off. Getting rid of those last few extra pounds of body fat
can get you looking ripped and beach ready.
The beauty of this is that even if you are a naturally skinny guy, you
can really make yourself look impressive and muscular by getting
shredded and ripped.
Losing body fat to get ready for the beach can be done in the run up to
your holiday. Focus on cardio and interval training to really make
yourself sweat and burn off those pounds.
Perform these exercises to strengthen your abs and get a ripped
mid-section:
Woodchoppers
- these are great for getting rid of your love handles - 3 sets of 12
Cable Crunch
- these will get you the ripped and cut definition on your abs - 3 sets
of 12
Hanging leg
raises - very good for the lower abdominals - 3 sets of 12

This is probably the simplest and most straightforward tip for how to
get a beach body, however, it really makes a huge difference to a
person's appearance and can transform how you look. If you don't have a
lot of muscle, or you're a little overweight, then I would really
recommend a few tanning sessions.
Tanned bodies look healthier and more
muscular, and that is a fact. I remember when I first realised this...I
was just beginning a training program to gain muscle mass ready for the
beach but, as always, I ended up starting too late and so wasn't as
muscular as I'd wanted to be by the time I went to the beach.
Anyway, my wife convinced me to get a few sessions in at the local
salon, and I can tell you, the transformation was amazing...I just kept
thinking how much better I could have looked had I completed my
training program in time.
As always, take extra precaution with tanning and make sure you use the
right creams and lotions, and always opt to tan safely and
slowly...don't get rushed into long sessions by the staff at the salon.
